NS RAPIDE

NEW MODEL
Sale price£16,995.00

Engineered without compromise, the new Moulton NS Rapide is the most technologically advanced road-focused bicycle ever created by Moulton. Designed for performance road and all-road riding, the Rapide has at its core a refined evolution of the iconic New Series separable spaceframe. Introducing a larger 451mm wheel platform, aerodynamic carbon wheels and compatibility with the latest 12- and 13-speed road transmissions, it pushes Moulton road performance into new territory with greater high-speed stability, precision and efficiency. Built from a highly considered blend of specialist steels, it is the lightest separable New Series model to date and the clearest expression of modern Moulton performance engineering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I fit 20” / 406mm wheels to the NS RAPIDE?

Yes. The NS Rapide is designed around Moulton’s dual-wheel-format capability and can be configured with either 406mm or 451mm wheel systems. The 406mm option allows the use of wider tyres and opens the bike to rougher road surfaces, light gravel and more exploratory all-road riding. The 451mm format gives the Rapide its faster, sharper road-going character, but the ability to move between both formats makes it one of the most adaptable road-focused New Series models.

How does the NS RAPIDE differ from the NS SAFARI?

Although both sit within the New Series family and share the same suspension system - Flexitor® front suspension and Hydrolastic® rear suspension - they are engineered with different intentions. The NS Safari is purpose-built for gravel, trail and adventure riding, with tyre clearance and hydraulic disc brake integration optimised specifically for off-road use. The NS Rapide is the road and all-road interpretation of that platform: faster steering, lighter road-led build configurations, and the option of the larger 451mm wheel format. Where the Safari extends further into rough terrain, the Rapide is tuned for speed, efficiency and precise handling across varied road and light gravel surfaces.

Are there standard 451mm alloy rims available as an alternative to carbon rims?

Yes. As an alternative to the carbon wheel option, the NS Rapide can be specified with Moulton DTR20+ black alloy rims, which are tubeless-ready and provide a practical alternative. They preserve the Rapide’s fast, responsive ride character while offering a different balance of weight, cost and serviceability. If you are considering an alternative wheel specification, please speak to Moulton or your authorised retailer to discuss the most suitable build.

Is an NS RAPIDE frameset available?

Yes. The NS Rapide frameset is available through authorised Moulton retailers for riders wishing to create a custom build. If specifying the frameset for use with 406mm wheels, it is important to confirm drivetrain compatibility before ordering, as component clearances and gearing requirements can vary between wheel formats. Moulton or your retailer can advise on the correct groupset configuration.
