Wishbone Stem (ahead)
The Wishbone Stem (Ahead) carries forward Dr Alex Moulton’s 1987 patented design into a modern threadless format. Retaining its iconic twin-arm architecture, it delivers the same precise indexed adjustment and distinctive aesthetic while integrating seamlessly with contemporary steering systems.
Constructed from Reynolds steel and finished in polished chrome, the Wishbone Ahead stem balances strength, adjustability and refined craftsmanship. Its adjustable arms allow the rider to move easily between upright and low-profile riding positions, while the reversible centre section fine-tunes reach to suit individual fit preferences.
Like the original, it also offers a practical advantage: when set to its lowest position and aligned with the frame, it reduces overall pack size - ideal for storage or transport.
The Wishbone Ahead stem preserves the race-proven adjustability and patented ingenuity of the original design, bringing its versatility and elegance to modern builds.

Compatibility
- For threadless (Ahead) steering systems. For current models:
- 1" fits SST, XTB, AM 22, Jubilee, AM Speed, Speed, NS Marathon (painted), NS Speed.
- 1 1/8" fits Flyte and NS Safari.
- Requires handlebars with a minimum 120mm parallel 26.0mm centre section
- Unsuitable for carbon handlebars
Height Adjustment
Height adjustment is achieved through the addition or removal of headset spacers (steerer tube length permitting).
