Wishbone Stem (quill)
Patented by Dr Alex Moulton in 1987, the Wishbone Stem is one of the most distinctive components in modern bicycle design. Engineered to complement the open architecture of the Moulton frame, it combines precise steering control with elegant mechanical simplicity.
Crafted from Reynolds steel and finished in polished chrome, the Wishbone stem is both lightweight and exceptionally strong. Its unique twin-arm configuration provides indexed angle adjustment, allowing riders to fine-tune position with remarkable accuracy. From upright comfort to a low, aerodynamic stance, the riding position can be altered quickly using a standard 6mm Allen key.
Unlike a conventional stem, the Wishbone’s centre section is reversible, enabling further adjustment of effective reach. In addition, the adjustable arms allow the handlebars to be rotated in line with the frame, significantly reducing the bike’s pack size for transport or storage.
The Wishbone Quill stem represents patented British engineering at its most practical - adaptable, elegant and unmistakably Moulton.
